North Coast Open

Every year, on a predetermined day in May from midnight to 9PM, teams of 3 or 4 birders will scour the five counties of Lucas, Ottawa, Erie, Sandusky, and Wood, for all the birds they can see and hear, and then meet to match their lists.

Teams will compete against their peers in three categories (Junior Division for birders 18 years old and younger; Senior division for birders 60 and older; and a Open Division for the hard-core listers. All teams are eligible to win custody of the traveling PEREGRINE CUP, awarded to the team with the over-all high list.

For birders with families or who cannot devote a full day to competitive birding, but who are still looking forward to a great day of spring birding, and would like to join us at the countdown for food, festivities and special rewards, the NCO committee is offering a Freestyle Division. To accept the challenge and test your birding abilities (1) recruit your best birding companions, (2) pick a team name, and (3) complete and return an official registration form together with the entry fee and mail to the North Coast Open Coordinator ( Greg Links, 7710 Fir Drive, Temperance, MI  48182 ).
