Fund Raising and Scholarship Information

TNA's purpose for fundraising is consistent with the overall group vision. Money donated to TNA is placed into one of four separate funds for the purpose of general operating expense, local research, education, and natural habitat preservation.

The Harold Mayfield Research Award Fund - established in 1990 to benefit undergraduate and graduate college students conducting research projects that will enhance knowledge of the flora, fauna, or geology of the Toledo area.

To apply for a Mayfield Research award, please download and fill out an application. Typically, research awards granted will be followed with a monthly program to TNA members and\or an article for our annual yearbook.

James D. Mallory College Scholarship Fund - established in 1990 to supply financial aid to TNA members in college who intend or are majoring in a field of study related to natural history.  Interested members or family members, should fill out an application and forward to TNA prior to April 15th for that award year.

Waterbury Conservation Fund - established in 1988 with the goal of preserving natural areas. The focus of future grants from this fund is likely to be land preservation in Northwest Ohio.

General Operating Fund - See bulletin or Yearbook for status of the operating fund.
