GIVING TUESDAY

GIVING TUESDAY is fast approaching. As you plan your charitable contributions for this year-end, please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Toledo Naturalists’ Association.

The Toledo Naturalists’ Association (TNA) is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, (TIN 23-7069103), dedicated to the study of natural history; to encouraging the conservation and informed use of natural resources; to the preservation of wildlife; and to disseminating information about this environmental work. TNA has been actively engaged in this vision and mission since 1933.

Your donation can help underwrite the very important goals of our four funds:

The Waterbury Conservation Fund was established in 1988 with the goal of preserving natural areas. The focus of future grants from this fund is likely to be land preservation in Northwest Ohio. Past awards from this fund have gone to Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, the Toledo Zoo, the Green Ribbon Initiative, and The Nature Conservancy, with a special focus on the Sandhill Crane Wetlands project.

The Harold Mayfield Research Fund was established in 1990 to benefit undergraduate and graduate college students conducting research projects, which will enhance knowledge of the flora, fauna, or geology of the Toledo area.

The James D. Mallory College Scholarship Fund was established in 1990 to supply financial aid to TNA members in college who intend to study, or who are majoring, in a field of study related to natural history. In the last two years, five very qualified college students have been recipients of scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each.

The Lou Campbell Fund was established in 2004 as a memorial to honor Lou Campbell and supports education promoting knowledge of natural history in Northwest Ohio. Recipients of awards from this fund include the Black Swamp Bird Observatory and the Ohio Young Birders Club.
