Elliot Tramer



Dr. Elliot Tramer has been a TNA member since 1970. Now Professor Emeritus at the University of Toledo, he was Founding Director of the University’s undergraduate program in Environmental Sciences, and Associate Chair of the Environmental Sciences Department. Dr. Tramer received UT’s Outstanding Advisor award in 2004, and the Ohio Biological Survey’s Herbert Osborn award in 2010. Dr. Tramer continues writing, and is the author of Richness and Rarity: The Natural History of Lucas County (2020, University of Toledo Press), and coauthor of Birds of the Toledo Area. He has served on the Board of the Black Swamp Bird Observatory, and is past president of TNA and the Masterworks Chorale. He is a Master Gardener, frequent metroparks volunteer, and Chairs the Whitehouse Tree Commission. Dr. Tramer and his wife Dr. Chris Manzey still find time to travel the world, chasing birds.
